Welcome to First Worship

John 4:24 says that God is “seeking” or looking for true, authentic worshipers. Our First Worship team wants to lead our church to the throne of the Almighty. The Worship ministry is always looking for vocalists, musicians, audio / video techs, and choir members.

Our Vision

At FBCM we love playing a mixture of worship songs (both old and new) that have biblically rich lyrics and beautiful melodies for our local church body to sing.

While we utilize many instruments on a Sunday morning and strive for excellence in our playing (Psalm 33:3 “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts”), it is our desire to see the voices of our congregation serve as a main instrument every Sunday.

This fulfills the charge from Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:15-16 of addressing one another in song and singing over one another as the body of Christ. This allows the church to tangibly minister to one another during our times of worship.

 

Ephesians 5:19

“addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart

Colossians 3:15-16

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

This focus leads to the selection of songs that have singable melodies, are theologically clear, and can be adjusted when necessary to be in keys that can allow maximum congregational participation.
