Gospel Conversations

What is a Gospel Conversation?

A Gospel conversation may take many forms, and it may be long or short. In short, a Gospel conversation contains either your testimony of coming to know Jesus as your Savior, or encourages the listener to come to know Jesus as their Savior. Here are some examples of what may or may not be Gospel conversations.

Gospel conversations could look like this:

You tell someone about how you became a believer in Jesus and encourage them to do the same.

You hand the person a tract or a "Be Our Guest" card and say, "On the back of this card, it tells you how if you give your whole life to Jesus, you can know you are going to heaven."

You share the entire Gospel with someone. Here is one common method:
G - God loves us created us to be with Him.
O - Our sins separate us from God and will send us to hell if not paid for.
S - Sins cannot be paid for by good deeds.
P - Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again.
E - Everyone who admits their sin, decides to be a Jesus follower, and trusts in Him alone for salvation has eternal life.
L - Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever.

You tell someone that believing in Jesus has changed your life, and you would love it if they came to your church to hear more.

You tell someone that believing in Jesus has changed your life, and that you would love to tell them more

These are really great, but would not be counted on the "I had a Gospel conversation" goal:

"God bless you."

"Would you like to visit my church?"

"I am praying for you."

Handing a "Be Our Guest" card

Again, these are amazing first steps, and sometimes that is all you have time to do, but they wouldn't be full Gospel conversations.
