Next Steps

Everyone has a next step to take, and everyone’s journey is unique.

We've laid out these "next steps" so that you can see what may lie ahead on your journey.

This is meant to be a helpful guide if you are questioning what your next step may be.

Join a Life Group

Our Life Groups meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45.

At MFBC, we believe that the Christian life is best lived in community with other believers who are committed both to supporting and challenging each other. We also believe that a church functions most effectively when its members are connected. This means we want our congregation to move from being "in rows" to doing studying God's Word together "in circles."

Become a follower of Jesus Christ

Saying "Yes" to Jesus is a major step in your spiritual journey. This means that...

  • You confess that God is real and that He deserves your worship.
  • You admit that you are a sinner who deserves eternal punishment.
  • You understand that God sent Jesus to pay the price for your sin and that God raised Him from the dead.
  • You receive Jesus by faith and make Him Lord of your life.

If you have taken this step of faith, we want to know about it. Please let a pastor or one of our leaders know about this. We want to celebrate with you. Furthermore, we want to help you deepen your walk with Christ.

Get Baptized

Baptism is a big deal!

  • Baptism is a public declaration of your faith.
  • Baptism symbolizes the cleansing of your sin.
  • Baptism identifies you with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
  • Baptism is a pledge to God.

According the Bible, when you have repented of sin and placed faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then you are ready for baptism. Since baptism is for someone who has made this decision, we don't practice infant baptism.

If you want to be baptized, please let one our pastors or other leaders know. We want to help you celebrate this decision with our church family.

Become a Member

We are convinced that every believer should be a part of a local church. The difference between being a church attender and a church member is commitment. Church membership proves your commitment to your spiritual brothers and sisters.

Joining a church is the next step once you have become a follower of Christ. To become a member of Mandeville's First Baptist Church, you can respond during the time of decision during one of our services or you can arrange a conversation with one of our pastors.

Several times a year, we have an event called "New Member Experience." This evening event gives those interested in finding out about our church the opportunity to share a meal with our pastors and some of our members. We include an overview of our church's beliefs, vision, structure, and member expectations. At the conclusion, we extend an invitation for those who wish to join Mandeville's First Baptist Church to do so.

Discover your Spiritual Gift

A spiritual gift is a special ability given at conversion for building up the body of Christ. Each member of the body of Christ has been given a spiritual gift to use in building up the church. We use a tool to help you find your spiritual  gift so that you can find the joy of serving the Lord in His church.
